Hot Dog Bites

Published February 17, 2012 by MisMandie

Ok, so this is really more of a method than a recipe meaning once you know the basic method you can reinvent it in a million ways!

What you will need:

  • Biscuit mix (I had Bisquick Heart Smart in my house)
  • Milk
  • Hot Dog
  • Greased Muffin pan

Follow the mixing instructions on your biscuit mix then add a little extra water to thin it out a bit…you want it about the consistency of pudding more or less.  Once you have that done it is just assembly.  Grease your muffin pan (I used a mini muffin pan since I was making them for my 2 year old) and fill the cups 1/2 way with the mix. Chop your hot dogs into small bites and then sprinkle a few pieces into each cup and press them down gently.   Bake at 400 for about 8-10 min or till golden brown.

Variations:  if you want to add in relish, onion, tomato or anytihng else, just chop it up and sprinkle them in before the hot dog so that when you push the hot dogs down it will submerge the rest.  OR you can add the hot dog then add ins THEN the batter if you want them completely covered when they bake up.
