Fill your sand table with table salt (1-2 containers should do it, and cost less than $5). If you Don’t have a sand table, or don’t want to bring it inside just get the a cardboard box lid. Then take 1 or 2 small toy trucks and tape or sticky tack a little rectangle of cardboar or heavy cardstock to the front to make a plow. (Pictures shown are on a small scale for illustration, you will want to use something larger for playtime)
Your little one can get as involved as they want as they build their city and plow the streets for other toy cars to get around…use toy houses, street signs, trees (like you have in toy train sets) etc… Hours of fun that you can reuse day after day!!!
*Bonus Idea: put a small amount of salt and some water in a separate container and mix together so they can make snowmen for their tiny world! 🙂
Use whats on hand substitutes:
*Flour or Sugar instead of Salt
*Large shallow tupperware bowl, cake pan, Toy bin, or box in place to Sand Table
Please beware of choking hazards depending on the age and maturity of your child!
